Rumour: Director Guillermo del Toro in partnership with THQ?

Pan’s Labyrinth’s Guillermo del Toro has videogame ideas and his partner in crime may just be publisher THQ, who’s all for Hollywood.

Director del Toro is in talks to work on ”technically and narratively very interesting” projects he said. THQ has promised ‘mind blowing’ news.

The movie man has already said he’s on the verge of announcing ”a big deal with a big company” that has him working on ”games that are going to be technically and narratively very interesting.” It’s believed this ‘big company’ is none other than THQ.

Core Games boss Danny Bilson at THQ has steered the publisher toward bigger love for Hollywood as the new Red Faction due in 2011 is expected to debut next to a SyFy film. Bilson subscribes to the Hollywood model of IP ownership ”which is that, the bigger the artist, the more important, the more successful they are, the bigger share they get.”

THQ doesn’t ”comment on rumors and speculation” of course.
