The studio claim it’ll have the ”best graphics” and gameplay on offer to date. Strong visuals and gameplay not enough to count on ”exclusively.”
Crytek executive producer Nathan Camarillo said they know developing for PS3 ”is a big challenge, but we’re happy to accept it,” speaking with mag PSM3, reports CVG.
”The most important thing that Crysis taught us as a developer is that, while cinematic graphics and convincing gameplay will get you a lot of press and build strong interest before release - you shouldn’t count on that exclusively.”
The original Crysis released on PC was a visual beast, demanding nothing but the very best gaming rigs if you wanted to enjoy all its true graphical splendour.
”We’re aiming to set the graphical benchmark. Why would anyone not want to play a game with the best graphics they have ever seen, great gameplay, some engaging fiction, challenging AI, killer weaponry and a complete gaming experience like no other?”
Crysis 2 is set in New York City, unlike the first game which took place in the Philippines. So it’s trading one tropical island for an urban one, if you will. It appears that Crysis 2 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this September. Are you looking forward to it?
