US District Judge the Honorable Susan Illston, dealing with Sony’s continued legal pursuit of PS3 hackers, has expressly shot down the subpoena bonanza.
Tomorrow there will apparently be a hearing on the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) placed on Jailbreak hacker Geohot, which was granted without a hearing.
”If a hearing is not held by February 10, 2011, Mr. Hotz will be forced to surrender his storage devices to Plaintiff SCEA, and will continue to be restrained, without a hearing or consideration of the substance of the TRO Order,” reveal court documents.
”A hearing is also needed so that Mr. Hotz may limit the breadth and vagueness of the TRO.” Could Sony’s legal crusade be falling apart already? For now Sony is forced to rethink how they plan to ‘widen the net’ in their hunt for more PS3 hackers.
