According to a post by Insomniac, the 2.02 patch will be coming next week in an effort to stabilize the game. In the post, the developer states, ”(w)e know you’re experiencing server timeouts at times when trying to matchmake or create private games, and that game stability itself can be an issue… the 2.02 update should fix the ‘Game has already ended’ issue you are getting when loading in, as well as fix the party leader/host changing between rounds right now. We’re trying to add other fixes and are testing this patch now.”
Gamers have been complaining of in-game lag, disbanding parties in the lobby, server timeouts, the “invisible man” glitch, and various “crash bugs” and “stat issues.”
Insomniac ended the post by addressing concerns about Resistance 3 itself, and if will be bug-free or even ready by its September launch. Insomniac assures ”everyone here at Insomniac and Sony are doing everything possible to ensure that the launch day experience is great.”
