Gears of War 3 goes gold

Gears of War 3 has finally gone gold, after being delayed from its April release. The game will be on track for its September 20 release.

Cliff Bleszinski posted an image of the congratulatory cake, stating that it was definitely not a lie.

Gears of War 3 begins with the last human city having been obliterated, with Marcus Fenix leading the last humans left on the planet, as they are preyed on by the Locust horde and the new, Dead Space-like Lambent.

Gears of War 3 will be available in three versions this September: standard ($60), Limited ($80), and Epic ($150), all in US currency.
