Halo 4 will "need at least" 8GB space for multiplayer

Microsoft has revealed via Xbox.com that Halo 4 ”at a minimum” needs 8GB of space, either from a USB Flash Drive or from the HDD in the Xbox 360; the latter is ”highly recommended.”

For the ”optimal experience” it’s best installed to the Xbox 360. There will be 10 maps for online play at launch for Halo 4, which releases November 6th. Spartan Ops the culprit?

There is supposed to be episodic content updates to the Spartan Ops co-op mode regularly, so that may be the reason for needing at least 8GB for online play, which is meant to add 12 hours.

”At a minimum, you’ll need at least an 8GB USB Flash Drive or an Xbox 360 Hard Drive to play Multiplayer mode in Halo 4,” cautions Xbox.com. ”For an optimal experience playing with an Xbox 360 Hard Drive is highly recommended.” Long gone are those cartridge days of yore - such a simpler, title update-less time.
