Third-person shooter Mercenary Ops from Epic's Chinese studio

A Chinese subsidiary of Epic Games is developing Mercenary Ops, a third-person shooter that’s multiplayer focused for PC. GDC in San Francisco is treated to a demo showcase.

Powered by Unreal Engine 3 and physX, it combines Counter-Strike and Gears of War style play. Shots of the title suggest a near-future sci-fi setting. It’s aiming for a summer date.

Delkans Publishing will get Mercenary Ops to retailers in the US and Europe later this year. Epic Games China is largely comprised of former Ubisoft Shanghai developers.
