Delivering on their usual turn-around, the folks over at Fatshark have put out an expansion to their own Warhammer shooter Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide - Karak Azgaraz just a month after its announcement. We're hopefully not going to have to read, type or say that full title many times in the future; and lets pray the next won't be quite so long-winded. Regardless, the update is live and sets players back $9/£6 for the privileged of doing some vermin-slaying dirtywork.
What did we think of the vanilla Vermintide release? It's Nick North's 'The Joys of Pest Control'.
But it isn't all just new maps and a Warpick for Bardin Goreksson; there's a long list of changes over here - but we'll list a few noteworthy updates down below:
- Added options to switch between XboxOne and PlayStation(R)4 icon sets for controllers
- A new HUD has been added when playing with controller
- Added some weight and variation to ragdoll behaviours
- Added mouse scroll inputs as keybindings
- Added option to disable/enable "Give Items with Block Key"
- Franz Lohner no longer whistles cheerfully. It is the End Times after all!
- Lots of code has been moved to less used CPU-cores, and runs more in parallel.
- Heavy optimization of all shaders.
- Added multi-level navigation pathing for enemies. So enemies should not get stuck no matter how far away from players they are.
- Added physics to a number of props in the Inn which were previously static
- Added Auto-aim support when playing with controller
