"Worst Game Of 2015" Raven's Cry Gets An Expensive Treasure Chest Edition Two Years Later

Two years ago, in 2015, we reviewed a game called Raven's Cry, a pirate RPG from Reality Pump - the creators of the Two Worlds series. It was one of the worst games we'd ever played. In November 2015 publisher TopWare would re-release the game as Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry, which fixed a few bugs but left most of the shockingly bad game design intact.

Now two years later in November 2017, TopWare Interactive have decided that now would be the perfect time to release an expensive physical Collector's Edition called the 'Treasure Chest' and a Steelbook version in stores.

We're going to be honest here. We come across many press releases, and we can say literally that this is the most baffling news item we've ever heard. We have so many questions. How is one of the worst games ever made getting an expensive Collector's Edition AND a Steelbook Edition? Why is this only happening two years later? Why now, in the midst of one of the busiest gaming release seasons ever? Who is this actually for? Is this a joke? And so on.

In case you are utterly insane and want to spend 89,99 € on a whim, here's all the stuff you'll get in the Treasure Chest when it comes out November 9, copied directly from the press release.

If this were literally any other RPG, and wasn't being released 2 years after the fact, we'd say that was a neat Collector's Box. And no, your eyes aren't going funny, it does say "60 Minutes of Extended Play Time" twice. It says a lot about a game where even the press quotes (which they didn't have to do) on their own website and the game's Steam page have to be from early previews and still don't sound excited. Our favourite is the Steam page's Red Bull quote "we speak to the team bringing true swashbuckling to next-gen" - the best they could do for a third quote was a mention that an interview exists. Our own review was much less kind, saying "There is literally nothing fun here at all and I can’t imagine anyone wanting to play it for anything other than a Mystery Science Theater 3000-style evening of mockery. Avoid, please god avoid." The Treasure Chest edition of Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry is out November 9 and is priced 90 Euros. Although god knows where you'll actually be able to buy it. Please Reality Pump - forget this game and concentrate on Two Worlds 3. TopWare - just forget it.
