Halo Wars 2 Beta Kicks Off Next Weekend With The

With news hitting just yesterday of Microsoft striking up a marketing deal to bring the PC version of Halo Wars 2 to brick and mortar stores, it's time to gear up for the game's final testing phase. Kicking off next Friday - January 20 - players will have 10 full days to play around with the game's Blitz multiplayer mode on both PC and Xbox One.

Being part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, this is another opportunity to see how the game performs across the board for those looking to pick up RTS title next month. Everyone's favorite Redmond executive Larry Hryb broke the news on Twitter yesterday. But just what is the Blitz mode we'll be playing next week? The official post gives a good explaination.

"Blitz is our new twist on RTS gameplay that combines the deck building and split-second decision making of card-based strategy play with explosive tactical combat in the Halo universe... Sounds simple enough! Why every strategy title seems to be involving cards these days is anyone's guess, but the structure has worked before! Let's hope 343 Industries can pull it off.
