There's a certain tradition Paradox Interactive seems to hold dear with each of its games. Rather than leave players out with an expansion, they're always dish out a handful of new features for free while the loyal players who decided to front them more cash get more bang for their actual buck. In the case of Cities: Skylines, it's that time once again. Its latest expansion - Mass Transit - launches later today. And if blimps, ferries and monorails aren't your thing, you're not being left in the dark. That traditional free update is back to give you a little something new to play around with.

The best addition, though? Well... other than naming roads - that'll be a disaster. We think it's the improved Emergency Response AI. If we're looking at this for a realistic simulation point-of-view, this is likely where you'll see the biggest difference. There's less chance of fire fighters taking the scenic route to a blaze while your hard was burns to the ground. Those guys have been getting paid like a shady taxi firm - now they have satnav! There's a couple other tweaks to read up on through the official announcement page, but those are the eye-catching ones. Hidden at the bottom, however? More 'Chirps'! Even after a 60 minute demo at PDXCON last week, Chirp was the stand-out star of the show.
