It's Time For Team Fortress 2 To Quit With The Gambling

Remember when a popular YouTuber only grew more popular late last year after uncovering a dark secret to how other YouTubers were making the big bucks by enticing users to a Counter Strike: Global Offensive gambling scheme through staged videos? Well, it's apparently happening again. Only this time on Valve's beloved hat simulator Team Fortress 2. Though likely not quite as wide-spread as last time, Valve hopped onto the Team Fortress 2 blog recently to announce its plans to promptly ban anyone using Team Fortress 2 items to solicit gambling across its platforms.

Toward the middle of last year, Valve began to clamp down on some of the bigger Counter Strike: Global Offensive gambling sites ordering them to cease operations before the owner's accounts were blocked entirely. Since then, things only got worse with H3H3 Productions releasing a video that outed the fact that the owners of some of these sites didn't disclose their role in videos rigged to show a massive payout through what was actually their own shady business.

Since then, multiple users taking part in the questionable business ethics of gambling in Valve's games have been held to account. With its system being crippled, people have begun to notice a rise in the activity over on Team Fortress 2 instead. So, understandably, Valve is attempting to put a stop to it before it blows up as much as before. Mentioned on the official blog post - which you can read over here - Valve officials said "Today we began the process of blocking TF2 gambling accounts as well. We recommend you don’t trade with these sites.” They're cleaning the streets.
