Rocket League Player Count - Psyonix's Smash Hit Reaches 50 Million Players

Rocket League</a>'s latest achievement may well be its greatest. This wacky, colourful driving/sports hybrid has attained a befuddling 50 million players over the course of its lifetime! Granted, this does include alter-accounts, re-purchases and whatnot, but still.

It is a testament to a game's quality and value when it garners more attention as a paid retail experience than the vast majority of popular F2P titles, which can't come even close to that number. That said, Psyonix aren't twiddling their thumbs! Competitive Season 9 is coming.

The Season 9 Update is coming to all platforms on 24th of September, and will bring with it a number of so-called Ranked Extra Modes, and will include fan favourites such as: Dropshot, Hoops, Rumble, and Snow Day, which will no longer be billed as 'casual'. Alonside the update, players can also expect an abundance of new rewards, a completely new in-game soundtrack EP, a new Hot Wheels DLC as per the franchise's 50th anniversary, a number of fixes and quality-of-life improvements, and more! Does this mean that Rocket League's player count will keep - if you'll bear with us - skyrocketing? We do believe so, at least for the time being.
