Battlecorp is an asynchronous turn-based multiplayer strategy game from Bad Marines Studio that aims to apply board game rules and a fluid rhythm to a futuristic dark sci-fi setting.
While a launch date for the full release hasn’t been revealed yet, we know Battlecorp is coming exclusively to Steam. Those who wish to jump into the action already can do so through the live playtest revealed on the game’s official website or wishlist it on Steam for updates.
“Year 3764. War no longer belongs to nations. It belongs to corporations.
For centuries, the human galaxy has been divided between private military megacorporations known as the Battlecorps. Their goal is not peace, justice, or glory. Their goal is simple: secure exploitation rights over the most valuable resource-rich planets.
In Battlecorp, you take command of a military and industrial corporation. Your mission: conquer, produce, maneuver, and eliminate the competition in turn-based strategic operations.”
With a focus on turn-based military strategy and management, Battlecorp lands closer to Risk-like board games. That said, it’s not a numbers game with simple turns. You’ll have to deploy forces, control resources, build a thriving economy, and of course, fight other commanders in ruthless multiplayer warfare. “Victory is not about reflexes. It is about decisions.”
The Battlecorp universe doesn’t shy away from sci-fi staples like marines, commandos, cyborgs, tanks, or advanced flying vehicles. Each unit has its purpose, but how you use them is the key to winning or simply perishing like countless others. The phase-based system, combined with tactical decision-making based on your territories and their properties, creates game matches during which things rarely stagnate. Only a single player can win.
Alongside the first details and the trailer we’ve shared, Bad Marines Studio has set, through the game’s official website, a Discord server acting as HQ where players can establish recruitment and corporations, work on (temporary) diplomacy and alliances, discuss strategies, and learn about the latest patch notes and announcements. You can join here.
