GameWatcher looks at Paraglacial’s Action RPG Fatekeeper and what its future holds. From the length of time it could be in Early Access, to when it will get a full release.
The THQ Nordic-published first-person RPG is developed by a team of just 13 people that has used an Early Access release to mitigate the risks of developing a game and genre type it hadn’t tackled before.
In Fatekeeper, you’ll venture into a handcrafted world where ruins whisper of past cataclysms. You’ll master the art of sword and sorcery and forge your path with relics, spells, and choices that shape who you become in this first-person RPG.
While the initial EA launch of the game is only a very small portion of what Paraglacial plans to make, it’s gone over very well so far, with players responding positively to what’s on offer.
Such a tantalising portion has understandably left players eager for more and curious about how long Early Access will take.
Fatekeeper Early Access Roadmap - When Can We Expect a Full Release?
Paraglacial has confirmed it wants to keep Fatekeeper in Early Access for 18 months, so a full release date could be around late 2027 or early 2028. Development is a tricky beast, though, so don’t be too surprised if there’s a change on that front to make a better game out of the end product.
The Early Access launch of Fatekeeper contains just two hours of the finished game, but the developer is aiming for the full experience to be about 15 hours long. Currently, there’s a lot of story content and progression mechanics still to be added, and any potential console release is a ways off.
The first version of the game aims to show the graphical fidelity and core gameplay elements of the full version, so while there might be improvements to visuals and gameplay mechanics in time, the developer is setting out its stall early for what the full release could look like.
So plenty of details already, but still nothing too concrete just yet. We’ll be sure to update you on any fresh developments on the Fatekeeper Early Access roadmap and eventual full 1.0 release date.
