When sent to a mysterious jungle to loot it for seemingly endless treasures, you’d be expecting a catch, and The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu’s catch is that said jungle is teeming with eldritch horrors.
The thing to remember is that these are forces beyond your understanding, and no matter what weapons you bring to the party, your fragile mind is getting chucked out well before closing time if you go in believing you can mow everything down.

Dopplegänger: There will be many a time when you notice one or two too many team members, and no, it’s not a glitch; it’s these wormy imitators.

Flesh Shambler: This undulating mass of meat can slip between dimensions, thus appearing from behind impossible hiding spots.

Haunter of the Dark: Plenty of creepy eyes are watching you out there, but the prominent one of this flying beast is one you’ll notice very quickly.

Mi-Go: ‘‘What the hell is that?’’ is a common refrain in The Mound, but every time I look at this horrific mishmash of things, I say it.

Shoggoth Worm: Giant centipedes are bad enough, but this hellish version of one makes those look like puppies.
