Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Latest News
Remember Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning? It was a very solid RPG that came out back in 2012. It’s also part of one of the biggest, most absurd collections of missteps and mismanagement that the gaming industry has seen. At the very least, the studio was recently cleared of criminal charges.
EA are really pushing this Game Time initiative. Hot on the heels of the news that players can grab Battlefield 4 comes the confirmation that Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be the next game available on the service.of
Download it now and you'll net 48 hours of free gameplay. A chance to try out a solid action RPG if you haven't already.
Sony Online Entertainment was pitched the 38 Studios MMO 'Copernicus', as John Smedley hailed it as "gorgeous," with its quality "undeniable." Unfortunately it was just "too expensive is all."
Smedley points the finger of blame surrounding 38 Studios' collapse towards "that idiot Governor Chafee" of Rhode Island, and even remarks the loan should never of happened.
The 38 Studios auction that was held last week at Heritage Global Partners managed to claw $320,000 in proceeds, and that's thanks to Rise of Nations, Rise of Legends and Big Huge Games.
What didn't amount to anything was RPG IP Kingdoms of Amalur or its MMO counterpart Project Copernicus. There were no "acceptable offers" put forward during the auction.
Curt Shilling has tweeted his support of the Amalur IP universe calling it a "billion dollar franchise," and implores anyone who buys it through the December auction to "put team back on it" and continue the journey.
He also remarked that years after its release "still no ones done what we were doing". Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning scored high among critics despite a few rough edges.
