Metal Gear Solid V was one of my favorite games last year. While it didn’t hit the storytelling heights of its predecessors, it did reach new levels of stealth action excellence, making it perhaps the best-playing game in the series. Now a new Definitive Experience is set to launch, bringing all of the game’s content into a single package.

A new trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been released and it's directed by series creator Hideo Kojima, so expect almost 6 minutes of 'what the hell just happened!?' to assault you.

The Phantom Pain is set after the events in the prologue release of Ground Zeroes. We play as Big Boss as he hunts those responsible in Afghanistan for ruining his private military company.

Actor Donna Burke, who lends her voice to the iDroid, says fans shouldn't "throw away" five year's work from the Kojima Productions team on Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain all because Hideo Kojima 'was fired'.

It's been in the news for a while now that Konami and Hideo Kojima aren't on the best terms, although there's been no public acknowledgement of exactly what's occurred.

Report: Sony Pictures lands film rights to Metal Gear Solid, writer and director attached

Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid is sneaking into cinemas according to a report from Deadline, which says Sony Pictures has landed a deal for the rights to a film adaptation of the complex conspiracy caper.

British writer Jay Basu is attached, though Kojima-san could have input. It's also said Jordan Vogt-Roberts will be directing MGS, which is based off the 1998 release on the original PlayStation.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes gives "solid" PC sales for Konami

Konami has revealed the PC version of the prologue Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has done "solid" numbers on PC, although they didn't reveal the exact figures in their recent fiscal.

It hit Steam in December, having enjoyed a million sales in March 2014 on consoles. Overall Konami's digital arm saw revenue dip, for the nine months leading to December 31st.
