Strange Brigade Summary
The struggling new studio from the creators of Dizzy has been acquired by Rebellion, presumably saving it from closing down - and they could be now working on Evil Genius 2.
We asked people from Fatshark (Warhammer Vermintide 1 and 2) and Rebellion (Zombie Army Trilogy, Sniper Elite, Strange Brigade) why there weren't more 4-player co-op games like Valve's Left 4 Dead.
Rebellion's Battlezone VR Lead Programmer has worked in the industry for 16 years and believes that "they aren't ideal for anyone" but are still needed.
Strange Brigade is an upcoming, third person cooperative shooter developed by Rebellion Developments that also has puzzle and survival horror game elements all implemented into a fun, action packed shooter, perfect for four-player co-op. Strange Brigade, built on the Rebellion-developed, Asura engine, is set to be released soon, though we don’t have an exact release date.
Strange Brigade was announced just before the E3 rush that's become the standard of the mid-summer gaming scene. Handled by Rebellion - of Sniper Elite fame - we're already seeing it in action.
