Dauntless is now out of beta, providing a free-to-play alternative to Monster Hunter World and its gear treadmill. With its own set of dangerous, imposing beasts, players will find themselves slaying creatures repeatedly for crafting parts such as the claw shell fragments
Here’s everything we know about how to get claw shell fragments drops when fighting the Kharabak in Dauntless.
Dauntless Claw Shell Fragments
Crafting materials in Dauntless can be obtained by doing your duty as a Slayer and taking out different Behemoths. In order to get your hands on claw shell fragments you’ll have to go against the Kharabak, one of the game’s flying insectoid Behemoths.
While claw shell fragments can drop from simply defeating the beast, you can potentially get your hands on more of them by focusing on breaking the creature’s front and back limbs. Its skittish movements can, however, make this a rather tricky task. For the best results, use an upgraded pike and target its front limbs. You’ll have to get used to the Khabarak’s animations and attack patterns but, as an idea, the best times to dish out some damage on its claws is after it performs a ground slam, its swarm attack or during one of its idle animations.
Although a common drop, in theory, it might take you a while to get enough claw shell fragments to craft every armor piece, so patience and observation are your best friends, as is often the case in Dauntless.
