Dauntless revolves around slaying beasts to craft new gear or upgrade current pieces so that you can take on tougher opponents. However, getting required reagents, such as the smoldering bloodhide, can prove to be quite tricky.
Here’s what you need to know about how to get the smoldering bloodhide reagent in Phoenix Labs’ Dauntless.
Dauntless Bloodhide Reagent
In order to obtain smoldering emberhide in Dauntless you’ll have to fight and defeat a Bloodfire Embermane. Chances are you’ve already met lesser variants of the Behemoth and obtained their gear, however those don’t drop the reagent.
Hunting Bloodfire Embermanes requires you to have progressed past the Dire Warnings quest of Dauntless’ main campaign. Said quest introduces Dire Behemoths, which are stronger variants of those you’ve already encountered. They also have more tricks up their sleeve.
The smoldering emberhide is a rare reagent, so you’ll most likely have to fight quite a few Bloodfire Embermanes to obtain it. Thus, it’s best to equip armor with lots of fire resistance and a weapon that deals frost damage, as the beast is weak to it. Naturally, breaking parts of the beast will increase the chances of getting the reagent.
