Forza Horizon 6 is almost here, finally bringing the massive open-world driving series to Japan and offering players even deeper customisation options. Here’s what we know about FH6 so far.
The game is being developed by veteran studio Playground Games once again, who are trying to deliver a mix of past wins while fixing some of Forza Horizon 5’s shortcomings. Regardless, the Forza community had been wanting to visit Japan for a very long time, so the allure of its countryside, roads, and Tokyo should be more than enough to entice a hungry player base as well as newcomers. Forza Horizon 6 Release Date
After a relatively short gap between its reveal and the proper marketing push, Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games quickly set a release date for Forza Horizon 6.

Forza Horizon 6 Gameplay
Like in past Forza Horizon entries, the experience is limited to a single setting that defines much of the game’s structure and overall flavour. This time around, we’re visiting Japan “in over 550 real-world cars” and with a renewed focus on not just car tuning, but also extensive home and garage customisation.
Playground Games has promised the series’ “most dense” and most vertical map yet, with Tokyo City set to become its biggest urban environment too. “Cutting-edge engine audio and updated steering animations with up to 540 degrees of wheel rotation” have been added, improving (even more) the immersion these games are known for.
Progression will be more traditional and rewarding this time around, meaning you won’t start your journey with amazing rides and will instead have to work your way up through the ranks, earning better cars and more options as you go. As expected, Japan’s Touge Battles (one-on-one downhill or uphill races) are at the centre of the experience, but also expect the usual selection of different competitions and challenges designed for both solo and online co-op play.
Key events include Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, and Car Meets, with classics like the Eliminator and Hide & Seek making a return too. Moreover, the CoLab tools allow creative players to build custom events anywhere in FH6’s world and to share them with the rest of the community.
