We break down everything known so far about the Halloween release date, supported platforms, gameplay details, trailers, and the latest updates from the developers.
The game, based on John Carpenter’s legendary slasher movie of the same name, puts players in Haddonfield on that fateful Halloween night as residents fighting for their lives or as Michael Myers, the masked killer on a bloodthirsty rampage.
Halloween Release Date
IllFonic will release Halloween in the slightly unseasonal slot of September 8, 2026. Plenty of time to practice ahead of Halloween night, at least.
Halloween Gameplay
In Halloween, a team of four players takes on the roles of Haddonfield residents escaping a player in the role of Michael Myers. Myers must stalk and kill players and NPC residents alike, while the residents must escape Myers and aid those in peril.
While the game is an asymmetrical multiplayer experience first, it also features a fully single-player mode. A relief considering the perilous state of online multiplayer games.
Halloween Story
The Halloween game is based on the events of the 1978 film of the same name, but instead of Laurie Strode and Dr. Loomis, we follow the residents of Haddonfield as they run, hide, and fight against the terror of The Shape, aka Michael Myers.
Halloween Price and Platforms
Halloween will be released on Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. A price has yet to be confirmed, but we could expect a mid-range cost based on previous IllFonic multiplayer titles.
