How should you store items in your Starfield ship? During your space odyssey in Starfield, every item you collect adds weight to your character's inventory. Surpassing a certain weight limit results in encumbrance.
Experiencing reduced oxygen levels during sprints and the inability to fast travel can be immensely frustrating. To sidestep this inconvenience, remember: your ship isn't merely an aesthetic wonder or a mode of transportation. It doubles as a storage unit for items that are better left onboard than carried. Discover how to efficiently use your Starfield ship for storage, ensuring your inventory remains manageable and your adventures unhindered.
How to Store Items on Ship in Starfield
To store items on your ship in Starfield, you'll need to access your ship's Cargo Hold while you're in the ship. You can't access the Cargo Hold outside or on a planet's surface.
Once you're on board, press "I" to open your inventory, then press "Q" or "LB" to switch to the Cargo Hold view. While in the Cargo Hold view, press "Q" or "LB" again to open your personal inventory.
After that, select all the items you'd like to transfer to your ship's cargo by pressing "E" or "A." That’s all you have to do to store items in your ship’s cargo.
Alternatively, you can access your ship's inventory by physically interacting with the Cargo Hold panel. Generally, this can be found around the cockpit, but the location may vary depending on the ship.
Now that you know how to store your items on your ship, it's essential to check and manage your ship's storage capacity periodically. If you run out of storage, however, you can always offload some items by selling them to a nearby merchant.
