Will the free-to-play MMORPG Aion 2 ever grace the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S? GameWatcher takes to the skies to see if it can spot any answers.
The online adventure sequel expands upon the original game with a visual overhaul in Unreal Engine 5 and a game world 36 times larger than its predecessor. It promises seamless aerial exploration, fast-paced action combat, and deep character customisation.
The sky-battling MMORPG sees players choose their faction and battle across a world where aerial combat is not a feature added to the world. It is the reason the world exists. Every region, every battlefield, every conflict was designed around the sky.
Sure, there are plenty of free-to-play RPGs you can already play on consoles, but options are always good, right? So will Aion 2 join the roster of MMORPGs on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S?
Aion 2 PS5 & Xbox Series X/S Status
As it stands, Aion 2 will launch on PC and mobile in September 2026, but there’s no confirmation or denial of a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S release.
In the short term, the developer’s focus is clearly on optimising the game for PC and mobile and getting it out the door later this year. After that, who knows?
But for now, no, Aion 2 is not coming to PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.
If that does change, then of course, we’ll update you with any relevant details.
