Canadian developer Eldamar Studio is known for its high-quality VFX and 3D work, so it comes as no surprise Lucid Falls, its upcoming first-person psychological horror video game, looks totally stunning.
Lucid Falls’ pitch is simple but immediately enticing: Trapped inside a lucid dream, survival is only guaranteed if you can successfully deal with both terrifying creatures and mind-bending challenges by twisting gravity, time, and space. This is no ordinary walk through the dark, and Eldamar is promising a focus on mood and atmosphere (powered by Unreal Engine 5) over cheap scares.
Hidden paths and puzzles abound, but you’re not alone inside the dream, and dealing with the horrors lurking in the shadows won’t be as easy as shooting at them. It’s a refreshing pitch we can’t wait to learn more about, and its latest in-game trailer is equal parts gorgeous and daunting:
