It’s been ages since Logan got a proper video game and the developer aims “to not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit.”
Wolverine Release Date
Logan gets his claws out in the Autumn, as the Wolverine release date is set for September 15, 2026. Its confirmation was accompanied by an extended gameplay trailer that aired during the June 2026 State of Play showcase.

Wolverine Gameplay
Marvel’s Wolverine is built on Insomniac Games staples like fast, fluid, and ferocious combat, exhilarating, action-packed set pieces, robust accessibility features, and a gripping story that taps into the core tenets of one of the most compelling comic book characters of all time.
The game will explore Logan’s signature spin on heroism, which is much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac.
Although stealth does seem to play a role, at least during the initial moments of its visceral combat encounters, the focus here lies on using Logan’s strength and penchant for brutality to violently dispatch foes. When pushed to the edge, he can tap into his rage and use his healing powers to recover before fully unleashing the beast within.
Wolverine Story
As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.
His search for answers will send him on perilous excursions to exotic locales, including the island nation of Madripoor, the frosted wilderness of Canada and the narrow city streets of Tokyo – all potential battlegrounds for fierce, bloody, destructive action.
Along the way, he’ll encounter and team up with key figures from the X-Men comics, including Jean Grey.
