Eidos' parent company SCi is said to be in trouble again financially and going through the motions to find a suitor, which apparently includes EA and Ubisoft.
At its height SCi commanded a value of GBP 1 billion but today is worth only around GBP 50 million. The UK's Daily Mail reports EA was first to take interest, with Ubi following afterward.
The takeover discussions are at an 'early stage' a source informs the UK newspaper. The company has suffered terrible losses with the falls in the stock market with its shares value having stumbled down 92%.
The Tomb Raider and Hitman franchise are juicy morsels for any publishing and development house to get their mitts on. There's been no official comment on the matter from any party.
