This has got to be one of the most farfetched of scenarios but here goes… some ‘clever’ tricksters emailed 2K’s technical support about game problems they were having.
They complained of some surround sound issues with PC’s GTAIV to which after a few responses later they receive a reply stating the PC version ”is still in development”. Oops.
Here’s the email from the obviously intelligence community trained tricksters sent to 2K:
”The first person driving view is simply amazing and the Nico Bellic character really makes me feel like I’m living the storyline. So much so that I feel bad in finding something to complain about, that being the surround sound. At times the back left speaker cuts out, specially when characters like little Jacob are speaking. Also when I call 911, the automated response starts, but cuts out when I am given emergency options.”
Firstly how someone in technical support within 2K doesn’t just happen to know that there is no PC version of GTAIV available at retail draws suspicion but such a ‘slip’ would already confirm the heavy rumours going around.
The alleged response from 2K technical support team was this, after they seemed to catch on:
”The PC version of GTA IV has not even been announced for release and is still in development so is not about to be released on a website we have no knowledge of.”
When the pranksters – those loveable scamps – pressed the support staff more about a release date for the PC version they were told: ”We are unsure when the PC version of the game will be released as we are only technical support and do not receive information on the matter. I would suggest keeping an eye on www.rockstargames.com for any information.”
We’re taking our pinches of salt at regular intervals on this one.
