Yes Grand Theft Auto IV is still in the news and it plans on staying a little longer it seems. Rockstar have launched a suit against the CTA for pulling game ads.
They claim that not only did they broke a contractual agreement worth $300,000 but also violated ”its free speech”. GTA vs. CTA.
Take-Two aren’t best pleased that the CTA pulled the adverts from their buses and the like within days of them launching on April 22. They say the CTA did this ”without explanation”, though at the time news media seem to target the ads - presumably to exploit the title for some quick ratings and right wing pandering.
Both the Chicago Transit Authority and their advertising agent Titan Outdoor LLC are to face the wrath of the publisher for violating their contract. Take-Two are seeking minimum damages worth $300,000 and want the ad campaign to be reinstated.
Let’s see what lawyers this brings out the woodwork, almost a shame it wasn’t some Floridian transit authority and that Mr Thompson was recently disbarred - then we’d get a real show worth the price of admission.
