Gamers have complained to developer Rare that Banjo-Kazooie’s latest romp doesn’t display all that well on old CRT televisions; the text is all blurry.
They’ve come back and announced through community manager George Kelion that the team won’t be doing anything about it because of the resources it would take.
”Unfortunately, this is an issue that doesn’t look like it will get changed,” posted Rare’s Kelion on NeoGAF.
”I don’t want to bore you with the technical side of things (I really don’t understand it all myself), but the long and the short of it is that the text you see in the demo will be the same as that which you find in the retail version of the game.”
”I’m sorry that we weren’t able to address this issue as nothing would please us more than turning all your complaints into gleeful responses, but it’s simply something that’s too expensive in terms of time, resources and money to alter.”
This, predictably, hasn’t being going down to well with some gamers who still try to siphon a performance out of the old CRT machines of yesteryear. The silver lining is that this could be a good time to ‘force’ yourself to buy a modern day HD TV.
On the subject of a possible patch later down the line, Kelion posted: ”I really don’t know at this stage, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Again, I appreciate that this isn’t what you wanted to hear, but I’d rather be up front and honest with you than spin you a line.”
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is being released exclusively on Xbox 360 this November 11th.
