The third faction in Tempest Rising – last year’s fantastic real-time strategy game – will be coming in late September to PC. Developer Slipgate Ironworks has confirmed The Veti’s Wrath is almost here.
Entombed for millennia, the Veti rise to reclaim a world that has forgotten them. Their doctrine is absolute: humanity is fuel for their engines of war, and the very ground must be consecrated into a weapon. One does not conquer what was always theirs.
After a rather long wait, we’ve learned today that September 29 is the chosen launch date for the full-blown Tempest Rising expansion. It comes with 11 new single-player missions, and the Veti faction has access to all the following:
- 9 Buildings
- 7 Vehicles
- 6 Infantry Units
- 5 Air Units
- 5 Specialists
- 5 Defensive Structures
- 5 Support Powers
- 1 Superweapon
The shocker is that, as confirmed by the new trailer below, all players who own the base game will also have access to the Veti in Multiplayer and Skirmish modes, meaning Tempest Rising’s online community won’t be divided depending on who has or doesn’t have the DLC. A price tag hasn’t been revealed yet, though.
Tempest Rising is currently available to purchase on PC via Steam. No console versions have been announced at the time of writing.
