Tempest Rising’s The Veti’s Wrath paid expansion launches later in 2026, introducing the alien antagonists we fought against in the base game, as a fully-fledged playable faction with its own dedicated single-player campaign.
Tempest Rising’s Tacticon demo is now live, giving anyone interested a taste of the first two missions from not just the upcoming Veti campaign, but also the GDF and Tempest Dynasty ones present in the base game. In addition, the Veti are also playable in skirmish and multiplayer.
Tempest Rising Tacticon Demo Teases Upcoming The Veti’s Wrath Expansion
Developer Slipgate Ironworks announced its intention to introduce the Veti as a playable faction early on, but the original plan was to have them enter the fray as a free addition without a dedicated campaign.
That has since changed, likely driven by the strategy game’s success. Tempest Rising’s The Veti’s Wrath expansion promises 11 new single-player campaign missions that focus on the faction’s efforts to push back the GDF and Tempest Dynasty while reclaiming Earth as its own.
Although the single-player campaign is a paid addition, the Veti will be available for all owners of the base game at no additional cost in multiplayer, custom games, and skirmish.
Described as a “unique force designed around subjugating and sacrificing its fallen enemies to power its conquest,” they bring sophisticated technology to the battlefield.
The two missions available as part of Tempest Rising’s Tacticon demo, which you can grab on Steam, serve as a tutorial that introduces us to how the Veti play.
A faction overview video offers a closer look at the faction’s buildings and units. Purchasing the expansion grants access to 9 buildings, 7 vehicles, 6 infantry units, 5 air units, 5 defensive structures, 5 specialists, 5 support powers, and 1 superweapon.
Tempest Rising’s The Veti’s Wrath paid expansion doesn’t have a release date at the moment, but more details on the matter will be shared over the coming months.
