Blizzard’s CEO Mike Morhaime has told investors that subscribers who sought out MMO’s Age of Conan and Warhammer Online have mostly returned to Warcraft.
Research gnomes have learnt gamers are returning in preparation for Wrath of the Lich King. 68% of players who joined Conan have ”reactivated their subscriptions” to WoW.
”Even though the quarter was book-ended by competitors in the MMO space, the World of Warcraft subscriber base continued to grow,” said Morhaime, reports Seeking Alpha.
”To date, 68 per cent of the players who listed Age of Conan as their reason for cancellation and 46 per cent of the players who listed Warhammer as their reason for cancellation have reactivated their subscriptions to World of Warcraft.”
The robust player economy and colourful art style of World of Warcraft give it a superior edge over the competition; it would take a lot to dislodge that like an EMP blast over Blizzard’s servers.
