According to a blog posts from Factor 5’s Sam Baker, which have since been removed, the developer is in a heap of trouble financially.
He posted a project was halted, co-workers hadn’t been paid and that unless they got more funding they’d soon by out on their ear. Now, apparently, projects are ”doing great”.
It would seem management at Factor 5 didn’t quite like their dirty laundry being done it public so previous posts detailing all the dev’s doom and gloom have been deleted and Baker has attempted to gloss over a few things, 1UP reports.
Originally he posted that ”the president of the company basically told us that if we didn’t receive funding in 1 week, all of us should move on and look elsewhere for another job. … I have 1 more week left at Factor 5.” This has subsequently been deleted.
Now he posts that ”the other projects currently under way at Factor 5 are doing great.”
With the recent collapse of Brash Entertainment there’s been a heap of misunderstanding he now claims on his blog posts. ”This does not mean that we’ve stopped production on that game, or that it was even in trouble,” but 1UP reports that he originally posted ”without proper funding on the project I was working on, the company was forced to stop production.”
This is a rather embarrassing turn of events for the team to be sure, but even more humiliating is the thought that Factor 5 believes blog readers have the attention spans of gold fish. Much like an elephant, the Internet never forgets.
