The developers behind the current Halo Wars is having its doors shut the moment the game hits the shelves, but Microsoft say they’ll ”form a new studio”.
The Ensemble leadership has ”agreed to provide ongoing support for Halo Wars” in their new digs. This was a ”fiscally-rooted decision” reveals the corporate giant.
In case you’ve forgotten, or didn’t know, Ensemble have made many a find contribution to the videogames industry: Age of Empires, Age of Mythology - so the confirmation of their closure is a sad one indeed for PC gaming.
”This decision does not reflect at all on Ensembles talent or the quality of Halo Wars. in fact, many people who have had a chance to test drive Halo Wars agree that it is on track to being a fantastic game,” Microsoft stated.
”This was a fiscally-rooted decision that keeps MGS on its growth path. While the decision to dissolve Ensemble was not an easy one, Microsoft is working to place as many Ensemble employees who do not move to the newly formed studio into open positions within Microsoft as possible.”
