According to data from GfK Chart-Track, Microsoft’s console has bested Sony by maintaining a lead of over one million units in key EU territories.
Recent price cuts over the months by Microsoft have helped stave off Sony’s numbers but the PS3 is hot on their heels. Sony and Microsoft recently exchanged boasts.
While SCEE’s David Reeves claimed PS3s installed based was 300,000 larger than Xbox 360 ”in PAL territories”, Microsoft declared November to be their ”biggest ever sales month”.
The Xbox 360 currently holds the led in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
The companies have recently been in a spat of statements spewing sales figures and various corporate chest beating messages. While the average consumer is likely not giving a damn and just awaiting the next volley of price cuts. nudges Sony
