Bungie’s top cheese Harold Ryan says he most certainly wasn’t ”laughing” when Microsoft’s Don Mattick told him the announcement was cut from E3.
Ryan said the team is ”always concerned first and foremost with our fans.” Mattick has stated an event later in the year would let gamers ”interact” with the new Halo.
”Keeping things clean, I certainly didn’t agree with the decision to delay our news until sometime after E3,” Ryan told Eurogamer.
”Bungie is always concerned first and foremost with our fans. Whenever we are prevented from exceeding their positive expectations it is not a laughing matter.”
This is at odds with what Xbox boss Don Mattrick says how he reacted at the decision during E3, saying that Ryan ”just laughed and he said, ‘Boy, just a sign of growth inside the business, we agree’.” Well someone’s telling porkpies somewhere.
Mattick said a separate event would be held to better suit the Halo announcement from Bungie that would ”create an opportunity where people can interact with it”.
Until then - erm, then.
