Kazunori Yamauchi of developer Polyphony Digital has given fans of Gran Turismo hope that number 5 could see a 2009 release date, and confirms ‘leaked’ features.
GT5 will come after the PSP launch of the title, and will ”very probably” release simultaneously around the globe. It’s been confirmed GT5 will run at 1080p and at 60fps.
”The game is still under development but its release is not too far, it will be after the PSP GT release and, very probably, it will be a simultaneous world release,” Yamauchi-san told Italian gamer site MultiPlayer, reports GT Planet.
Asked if the features list from the official site that was shortly pulled afterward was true, the Polyphony man replied: ”We would like to wait to publish them, but what you read on the site is true.”
Gran Turimso for PSP is being released October 1st, with Sony pledging a free downloadable copy from PSN if you buy and then register a PSPgo between October 1st and 10th.
