Developer Creative Assembly will say "thank you" to the community by including five new multiplayer maps free when the 1.5 patch goes live, which is when Warpath retails.
Warpath is the mini-expansion to Empire: Total War. The patch is said to include significant tweaks to the game AI and the new maps support "all team sizes". Warpath here "soon."
"We're pleased to announce that we'll be releasing five new multiplayer maps with the upcoming 1.5 Patch. These maps are to mark the release of Warpath on the same day and are a thank you for the communities continued support," Creative.
"To be clear these maps are free with the 1.5 patch, you don't need to purchase Warpath to enjoy them." The previous 1.4 patch changed a lot for the naval combat AI. All of the new maps are enabled "for all team sizes" - 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4. Here's the list:
• Grassy Flatlands
This is a flat, balanced map designed for competitive/tournament play.
• Austrian Pinnacles
A maze like European landscape with plenty of opportunities to outflank and manoeuvree around your opponent(s).
• Syrian Ridge
A desert map with several oasis scattered around and a large sandy hill near the centre to dominate the opposition.
• Siberian Plateau
A balanced flat snowy tundra map, heavily forested to allow for ambush and concealed fighting
An American plains map with several cabin dwellings and low rolling hills with opportunities to seize elevated positions.
Empire: Total War's 1.5 patch to include 5 maps, don't need Warpath
