According to a join report from NPD, GfK Chart-Track and Enterbrain the games scene saw an 11% increase in the top three markets, US, UK and Japan.
For the year a staggering 409.9 million units were sold, compared to 2007’s 367.7 million. The United States saw a rise of 15%, the UK rose 26% while Japan actually declined 13%.
Old Blighty also experienced the highest aggregate growth too with console software going up 38% and portable software climbing 6%. The US had 12% console software growth with a 2% rise in portable software.
