Set in the future where the world’s cities are destroyed through earthquakes, ‘Project Aftershock’ is a ”multiplayer sci-fi racing game”.
In a similar vein to WipEout, players control super fast vehicles and blow the living scrap out of each other along the tracks. The indie team are hard at work and blog their progress.
”Massive Earthquakes were occuring all over the globe and destroyed most of earth’s major cities,” goes the official blurb.
”From the ruins a new racing league was formed. Destroyed cities were turned into racing tracks and special crafts are assembled with high powered jets capable of flying over any terrain.”
Already Liquid Rocket has put together a gameplay trailer for Aftershock’s first level, which can be seen below. They’ve posted a number of images on Flickr too showing the first track in high detail.
”To add to the thrill of racing through these tracks, these crafts are outfitted with abandoned military weapons and special upgrades/abilities. Players will need to race through 5 different track themes each with its own set of environmental traps where each team could use it to their advantage to slow the competing team down.”
