Officially known as ‘Project: V13’, Interplay has made it clear they plan on pouring buckets of cash into the games development.
Masthead Studios, developer of MMO Earthrise, will be working with Interplay and using their proprietary technology to develop an online world for Fallout; it’s an ”ideal” arrangement.
”We are looking forward to turning the vision of our game designers into a compelling online gaming experience. The planning and design completed for Project: V13 thus far, combined with Masthead’s resources, tools, and growing team of dedicated MMOG developers, will bring this unique game to reality,” said Herve Caen, Interplay Chairman and CEO.
The exact specifics of the deal between the two houses are left in the dark, but it’s interesting to see Masthead jump to aid an MMOG project that ultimately will rival their own Earthrise.
”This arrangement is ideal because it leverages the technology our professionals have specifically built for advanced Massively Multiplayer Online Games into what we expect will be a groundbreaking Interplay gaming title,” said Masthead President Atanas Atanasov.
