John Carmack recently revealed to Edge that id Software's upcoming Rage game isn't quite so amazing on the PlayStation 3 compared to its PC and Xbox 360 counterparts.
The studio bigwig said it's "designed as a 60Hz game" and will run at 60 frames-per-second on the PS3 by the end, something Rage's twitter is keen to emphasis from the article.
"The Edge Magazine article has caused quite a ruckus. We are committed to ensuring that gamers on all platforms have a great Rage experience," twittered Rage itself.
What caused all the fuss among PS3 and Rage fans? "The PS3 does lag a little bit behind in terms of getting the performance out of it," Carmack told Edge - cue the hysterics.
"Everything is designed as a 60 hertz game. We expect this to be 60 hertz on every supported platform," he added, to quell fears. "The work remaining is getting it locked so there’s never a dropped frame or a tear, but we’re confident that we’re going to get that."
Does id's confidence help your confidence, videogamer?
