Cloud videogames platform OnLive is ramping up with its beta program now extending to US-based gamers over 18-years of age who signed up for the experience on the site.
OnLive’s Steve Perlman blogged the news, and says it’ll be working through PCs and MACs for now. This is an ”AWESOME milestone” for OnLive, as it prods and probes across the US.
”One of the key challenges that OnLive technology addresses is providing a high-quality, fast-response gaming experience over a wide range of situations: different speeds/locations/types of broadband services, a variety of different PC and Mac configurations, several kinds of input and display devices, etc.,” blogged Perlman.
”So, a major focus of OnLive Beta is to test as many of these different situations as we can.” For now the beta test is limited to desktop machines, but will be putting various broadband connections through their paces and different PC/MAC hardware configurations.
There’s still time to sign up for the OnLive beta if you’re in the United States, and happen to have been alive for over 18 of our Earth years - otherwise, tough luck.
