Hideo Kojima announced that Metal Gear Solid will be hitting the arcades, which even comes with full 3D visuals thanks to attached goggles.
Metal Gear Arcade is being developed by Konami’s arcade vision and Kojima Productions with a release expected later this year in Japanese arcades, and the world soon after.
”Metal Gear Solid finally makes its appearance on the coin-ops,” Kojima-san said during Konami’s E3 conference. ”It’s coming back from the PS3’s Metal Gear Online. That was quite a hit, so we’re going to bring it to the coin-ops.”
They previewed the arcade units which seem to come in packs of four, but will also be connected to others elsewhere via the eKonami system - complete with 3D goggles.
”If you put on these goggles which allow you to see the 3D view, you’ll be able to see the enemies pop up in 3D,” he continued. Arcades will be cool again I guess.
