There aren’t many air combat games worth their packaging these days and it seems THQ agreed, and made the devs redundant too.
Juiced Games, bought by THQ back in ‘06, was working on this new aerial action title but THQ execs deemed the whole project just a little too dangerous to undertake right now.
Instead of letting the hard work of 30 devs just rot in secrecy though some media assets have been splashed over the giant worldwide web, including a rather enticing CG trailer for Stormbirds.
”The game was in the same genre as Ace Combat and HAWX,” said former Juiced artist Calvert. ”THQ deemed the project too high risk,” he blogged and added that ”as a result the entire team were made redundant on the 1st of December 2008.” Ouch.
It was believed the game was being developed for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC but we can only dream now. The original blog post by Greg Calvert has since been pulled from the humble strings of the Internet.
