A job listing for a "Micro-Transaction / E-Commerce Manager" at Turbine has caused a bit of an anxiety panic among MMO susbcribers.
However the team is adamant current MMO's LOTRO, D&D Online and Asheron's Call will be sticking with just monthly fees. This position is for work on "an unannounced future project."
Recently Sony implemented micro-transactions into EverQuest and EverQuest II much to the disdain of fans. SOE still operate full monthly fees for the two but now spending even more can net you an edge over your online peers.
"We know the recent job listing has caused a bit of a stir, but please be aware that this posting is for an unannounced future project," a rep on the official LOTRO forums.
