The lawsuit ruckus surrounding Double Fine’s Brutal Legend, starring Jack Black, has been laid to rest thanks to Activision and the developer settling the squabble.
Publisher Acti claimed it still owned the rights to the game, and launched legal measures to prevent its release. Double Fine then hit back with their own accusations in a counter-suit.
The details of the settlement are unknown but things weren’t looking so great for Activision’s case against developer Double Fine, with Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan telling lawyers last week he was in principle agreement with Double Fine’s position.
EA is likely over the moon as they’ve poured buckets-o-cash into marketing the game. Brutal Legend is being released on Xbox 360 and PS3 this October 16th.
