Answering questions from the great unwashed masses, Ubisoft have claimed the core path through the sequel tops the ”20 hours it took in the first game.”
Assassin’s Creed 2 also packs optional gameplay that adds ”a lot of depth” to the game, and does so in ”a very significant and meaningful way.” It’s ”too early” for total hours.
”The game structure and the mission system were the most crucial elements we wanted to improve on,” replied Ubi to the fan inquisition.
”We are redefining the overall mission structure to give gamers a more fun, rewarding and unpredictable experience throughout the game by adding a lot of variety in missions types and changing the way the story and the missions unfold.”
It’s the scope of the game that the developer has been hard at work on, and gamers are going to notice it says Ubisoft. ”We have greatly increased the scope of the game since the first installment of Assassin’s Creed, so just completing the core of the game will be longer than the 20 hours it took in the first game,” said their FAQ.
”Moreover, we have developed several different optional gameplay that will add a lot of depth to the whole experience and will also extend your gameplay time in a very significant and meaningful way. As for the exact number of hours it will require it’s still too early to say!”
Assassin’s Creed 2 is being released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this November 17th.
